It's Scholarship Season

 During the 2003 - 2004 NEMHL season, the League started offering scholarships to our graduating League players who will be attending accredited colleges and universities. To date, 29 NEMHL seniors have received scholarships of $500 each to assist in their (and their parents’) academic costs. This year represents the best chance of any season to win a scholarship, and yes, this is a competitive process. With only 8 teams participating this season, chances are better than any other year. John Mishoe, Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee, has again authorized up to four $500 scholarships to be awarded at our Annual Banquet during the playoffs in March. Criteria for a scholarship award include scholastic achievement, involvement in community and charitable activities, performance within the NEMHL, leadership capabilities, and an essay on what the League means to you. We also encourage all to help us with continuing to fund the scholarship program. We, as a League, recognize that the economy has hurt hockey programs in many fundamental ways, but it is important and rewarding for all of us to help assist our scholars in their pursuit of academic excellence.
